Chip Bierbaum

A 2010 graduate of Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management, Chip Bierbaum has a GPA of 3.62 and GMAT score of 710.C hip Bierbaum was also Sector Head of Capital Markets in Owen's Finance Club and participated in the student run investment fund and the Real Estate Club. Mr. Bierbaum is a recipient of the John and Edna B. Morris Scholarship awarded to a student with an exceptional background in investment management and is also a holder of the CFA designation. Chip Bierbaum has compiled an impressive list of professional accomplishments. After graduating from Trinity College in 2003 with a B.A. in Art History, Mr. Bierbaum spent the better part of 5 years in the financial services industry at bulge bracket Wall Street institutions. He began his career as a trading assistant in municipal bonds and institutional equities. Mr. Bierbaum then joined an internal hedge fund at a large Wall Street investment bank as a credit analyst and eventually Jr. Portfolio Manager. Chip Bierbaum then became a Senior Associate at a proprietary trading desk, focusing on credit opportunities. During his time on Wall Street Mr. Bierbaum became intimately familiar with financial institution operations, performed in-depth credit analysis on corporate entities and special situations and managed a portfolio of corporate credit and exotic credit instruments. Chip spent his summer as an Associate at New Capital Partners, a growth stage private equity firm, performing deal/investment analysis, due diligence, deal sourcing and strategic analysis on prospective portfolio companies in the health care space. Chip has been continuing these activities during the past school year as an associate at Faultline Ventures, a health care PE/VC firm that focuses on small cap growth stage companies in the healthcare space. Chip recently founded his own company, Medi-Sights Investment Research which provides bespoke investment research to the private equity/venture capital industry, bulge bracket Wall Street investment banks and operating companies. Medi-Sights provides value added insights into the healthcare services, technology and distribution sectors. In addition, Medi-Sights will also furnish customers with detailed corporate financial models, business forecasting services and company valuation.
